Merlin creates new post of Head of Major and Complex Loss
06/10/2010
Merlin has promoted Senior Loss Adjuster Mike Brogden to the newly created post of Head of Major and Complex Loss following the relaunch of the unit in July as a key part of its Chartered Loss Adjusting division.
Mike, who as well as being a Chartered Loss Adjuster is also a qualified Chartered Surveyor, has spent the last 18 month working with the senior management team in re-establishing Merlin’s credentials in Major and Complex loss claims, and creating a new team. He is delighted to have been given the chance to develop the unit still further: “This is a new post that signals that Merlin is serious about Major and Complex loss and has the expertise to deliver,” he says.
“We have teams of specialist adjusters embedded in the regions so that if a major or complex claim comes through, we always have someone with the experience on the ground where they are needed most.”
Mike began his career in the construction industry where he spent 10 years as a Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager. It was a natural progression into loss adjusting and he qualified as a Chartered Loss Adjuster in 1989. He has extensive International claims experience having worked in the Middle East, Europe, and the USA. His areas of speciality include Material Damage, Contractors All Risks, Erection All Risks, and Plant & Machinery.
Commenting on Mike’s promotion, Kevin Wood, Chief Technical Officer says that Mike’s position reflects the success of Merlin’s general loss adjusting division and the strength of its market offering: “Mike is a highly qualified professional who brings a refreshing candour and rigour to the role,” he says. “He is singularly focused on achieving the best results for our clients and their customers.”
Merlin has more than 97 Loss Adjusters, with many being either ACILA or FCILA qualified. It is also continuing to invest in its existing employees through a dedicated training division, The Merlin Academy.
