In 2010, Merlin launched a fresh and innovative new approach to the management of Subsidence when we introduced our dedicated Subsidence Hub based in Warrington. The Hub consists of skilled and qualified Adjusters, Engineers, Surveyors and Claims Technicians, all of whom have extensive technical knowledge and considerable experience in the handling of Subsidence claims.
In the first siginificant change in Subsidence claims handling in nearly 15 years, the centralised Hub owns each claim from end to end, with all key decisions around the management of the claim being made by experienced Subsidence Adjusters based in the Hub.

A claim for a property suffering from subsidence can be in depth and time consuming, but our team of experts can ensure that clients and customers alike have complete piece of mind throughout the entire process through meaningful and consistent updates. In line with our robust Contact Strategy, we update our clients and customer when it's convenient for them and in line with the progress of the claim, whether it by phone, letter, e-mail or text message.
If subsidence is not the problem, our Subsidence Claims Managers will provide a detailed diagnosis of the source of damage, along with an explanation of any recommendations for repair and any supporting documentation that can be passed to any interested parties, i.e. future purchasers of the property.
Merlin's Subsidence team can utilise the full breath of the Merlin Group for any claim, through the use of our engineers and environmental experts; whatever knowledge the claim requires, we are able to appoint the most appropriately skilled expert to help co-ordinate and control the claim.
